Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Elowin Labs LLC (“we”) handles information when you use OldPhoto Repair. We collect as little as we reasonably can. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your photos to train models.

When you restore a photo, you send it to us so we can process it and return the result. Photos are used only to fulfill that request and are deleted when processing is complete. We do not keep your photos, publish them, share them, or use them for advertising. You retain all rights in the files you upload and in the restored files we return. While a restoration is running, this browser keeps a copy of the photo in its own storage so the page can pick the job back up if the browser reloads it partway; that copy is deleted the moment the restoration finishes or fails. Nothing is kept on your device after you leave the page, apart from the choice you make in the cookie notice, if you pick a language, which one, and, while Analytics is on, the two Google Analytics cookies listed in the Cookie Policy.

An AI agent can restore photos through our MCP server on your behalf. A photo it uploads is stored only until it is restored, then deleted; a photo it names by web address is downloaded only to restore it. The restored result is stored so the agent can download it, and is deleted within one hour, as is anything uploaded but never restored. Nothing sent this way is published, shared, or used for training. Requests are counted per network to enforce the free daily allowance, using the same technical information described below.

We may collect:

• Photos you choose to upload, solely to process and return them.
• Technical information such as IP address, browser type, and general location, used to operate, secure, and prevent abuse of the service.
• An email address, only if you join a waiting list.

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to operate the service, including to apply fair-use limits and to remember the choice you make in the cookie notice. We do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies. While Analytics is on, Google Analytics sets two analytics cookies. Your privacy choices in the footer of every page reopens your preferences. See the Cookie Policy for more.

We use privacy-focused, cookieless analytics and Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: pages visited, the referring site, country, device and browser type, and a few coarse events. The cookieless analytics keep no personal data. Google Analytics is provided by Google, which processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms; it sets the cookies listed in our Cookie Policy and does not store IP addresses. We keep Google Analytics data for 14 months. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. None of them can see your photos. Turn Analytics off in the cookie preferences and they stop counting your visits.

We use the information above to provide the restoration you requested, keep the service reliable and fair, prevent fraud and abuse, screen content that violates our acceptable use rules, communicate with you about a waiting list you joined, and improve the site in aggregate.

We use service providers to host the site, process photos, protect against automated abuse, perform content screening, store waiting-list emails, and measure usage (including Google, for Google Analytics). They process information only as needed to provide those services to us, and only on our instructions.

Optional support payments are handled by Ko-fi and Stripe on their own websites. We do not see your card details. Ko-fi sends us your display name, email address, message and amount so we can thank you and keep accounting records. Nothing from Ko-fi or Stripe loads on this site; the “Support this tool” link simply opens their page.

Photos are deleted when processing is complete; photos and results handled through the MCP server are deleted within an hour. Waiting-list emails are kept until you ask us to remove them or we discontinue the list. Technical records used to operate and protect the service are kept only as long as needed for those purposes.

OldPhoto Repair is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us an email address, contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, or to object to how it is used. In practice we hold very little: we do not keep photos beyond the hour described above, we do not keep an account for you, and we keep an email address only if you volunteered one. Email us to make a request. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
